What are they responsible for?

Once they are completed with their full-fledged training, they are appointed at a state-level and is designated to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). Followed by different ranks according to the experience that they have gained throughout all the years, and the seniority that comes with age. After this, they are assigned with the position of the Deputy Inspector General of Police or Inspector General of Police or Police Commissioner and even the Director of Intelligence Bureau.

The life of an IPS officer is challenging and unpredictable, without a doubt. They don't have a regular routine like any other employee. Life is a bit challenging for this reputable position as they are serving the nation and the government.
In general, and to explain in jist; an IPS officer takes the lead of the maintenance of law & order and supervises the police machinery assigned within the jurisdiction.
Honestly, big posts come with a big responsibility .A regular day for an IPS officer can also begin at 3am in the morning and yes, it's a reality! The officers and the lead will inform them about the riots as it needs to be controlled within the next few hours. This is done to prevent from causing any further damage. It can also help in showing concern about multiple possibilities.
